Job Title: Small Events Chef for Retreat Center

Location: Red River Gorge, Kentucky (Beattyville/Lee County)

About Us:
Our glamping retreat center in the scenic Red River Gorge, offers unique, immersive experiences for corporate groups, yoga retreats, and micro-weddings. We’re seeking a skilled Private Chef to join us on an event basis, providing delicious and flexible meals for groups ranging from 5-20 people.

Oftentimes groups are focused on leading their retreat and don’t have capacity to focus on cooking, cleaning, or leaving our property for meals. We want to partner with someone to create immersive and all-inclusive environments for our guests!

Our Space: Brand new, fully stocked kitchen with 6 range gas stove and sizable island for meal prep.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create customized menus for guests to choose from in advance. Meals should be affordable and flexible for dietary restrictions and preferences.

  • Source ingredients and manage grocery shopping or order through Instacart.

  • Prepare and serve meals with quality and care.

  • Clean and maintain a tidy cooking space after each meal.

  • Adapt meals to accommodate dietary restrictions and client preferences.

  • Collaborate closely with onsite property managers and other staff members to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a chef, with a background in cooking for groups.

  • Live in close proximity to our space, or be willing to travel to the Red River Gorge area. We can not always guarantee over night accommodations for you.

  • Reliable transportation and communication methods.

  • Flexibility in availability, including weekends, weekdays, and mornings. Our events are typically booked 60 days in advance. You would have the option to pick and choose which events align with your availability.

  • Strong adaptability and a passion for creating memorable meals.

Example Event:
We have a group of 15 staying from 12pm Wednesday - 12pm Thursday. They will need lunch, dinner, and breakfast (Thursday) planned and prepared for them. Your responsibility would be deciding the menu, ordering groceries, preparing/serving the meals onsite, and cleaning up after each meal. Your hours would likely be 11am-8pm, then 7am-10am the next morning.
